An Afternoon Tea at The Windsor, helmed by Executive Pastry Chef Felix Goodwin.
Change is afoot at The Windsor, with a renewed emphasis on its culinary offerings. The hotel recently appointed Felix Goodwin – formerly the Pastry Chef at sister restaurant, SUNDA (BKK, Saigon Sally & Donovans), breathing fresh life into the 138 year old Afternoon Tea offering.
With an interest in native Australian ingredients and a culinary background marked with Asian influences (Felix’s wife, Elena, a chef, is also Asian), Afternoon Tea now takes the form of two silver stands – one with savouries and one with sweets, both decidedly modern and with hints of Asia and native Australia.
The hotel is also introducing its own gluten free bakery, cafe and dessert room in the next few months, led by Felix and situated on the ground floor of the hotel, looking out onto Little Collins Street.
Finally, The Windsor is expanding on its offsite restaurants, with SUNDA (on Punch Lane, just five minutes walk away) moving in a fine dining direction, and ARU (a new restaurant on Little Collins Street in the city) opening in the first half of 2021.
