CHIANG MAI
Located amongst the highest mountains in the country, Chiang Mai is the largest and probably the most culturally significant city in Northern Thailand. This tour is designed to showcase the region’s beautiful temples as well as share an insight into some of the local arts and crafts. On the last day, you will visit the award-winning Mae Kampong Eco Village in the mountains.
Chiang Mai means “new city” and was so named because it became the new capital of the Lanna Kingdom, succeeding Chiang Rai. The modern city has now grown up around ancient Chiang Mai, but a short drive will take you to rain forested national parks, cascading waterfalls, bubbling hot springs and peaceful country villages, as well as hiking trails, tree-top adventures and elephant sanctuaries.
