Pre Famil 6 – Tour your Taste Buds

Pack your taste buds and appetite because on this pre-famil we’re taking them both to Port Douglas. Our famil starts in Cairns before transferring to Oak Beach Cooking School where we’ll be put through our culinary paces before enjoying lunch made with our own fair hands. Our dining experience doesn’t stop there – we’ll finish the evening in Port Douglas dining institution Salsa. Bon Appetite!

Tuesday 17th of October

AM: From Cairns to the kitchen

We’ll leave Cairns around lunch time to transfer to Oak Beach, for a cooking school followed by a late lunch. Today we’ll be learning the intricacies of south-east Asian cuisine, set amongst four acres of lush surroundings. With a focus on seasonal produce, you’ll leave not only full but with a new appreciation for fresh, seasonal food.

PM: Arrive into Port Douglas Paradise

After lunch, we’ll swap Oak Beach for another type of beach-front borough, Port Douglas. We’ll check into our accommodation and enjoy an afternoon of downtime, where you’re welcome to take a stroll along Four Mile Beach or explore Macrossan Street.

Dinner this evening will be served at Salsa, which promises to have your taste buds dancing with a menu that features the likes of wild barramundi, Singapore chilli crab sauce, coconut, and cucumber salad and gremolata lamb loin.

Overnight: Peppers Beach Club

Wednesday 18th of October

AM: Swap palm trees for city sights

We’ll put an hour and a half between ourselves and Port Douglas this morning, returning to Cairns in time for mid-morning and the conference start.
