NONG KHAI – LOEI
This tour will take you around Thailand’s Upper North East region. The tour begins with a visit to Ban Wang Nam Mok Village in Nong Khai, where you will experience the community life and attend the traditional welcoming ceremony. In the evening, we will take you to Tha Sadet Checkpoint Market, where you can feel a multi-cultural diversity of this region.
On the second day, we will visit Phu Phrabat Historical Park which features unusual rock formations around which religious shrines have been constructed. After that, we will travel to the tranquil and relaxing district of Chiang Khan on the Mekong River in Loei.
Lastly we will visit Phi Ta Khon Museum in Dansai to learn about the local traditions which evolved mainly around agriculture and religion.

Ban Wang Nam Mok Village (2hr drive from Udon Thani Airport): Experience the community life, attend the traditional welcoming ceremony and taste home-made “sour rice”.
PM: Enjoy a drive a long Mekong River to Tha Sadet Checkpoint Market (1.5hr drive from Ban Wang Nam Mok) in Nong Khai Province: The market here is often called the ‘Indochina Market’ because goods sold here are mainly from across the region and range from clothes, kitchen utensils, food to fishing equipment

MONDAY 20 AUGUST
Udon Thani – Loei
AM: Phu Phrabat Historical Park: This historical park features its unusual rock formations around which religious shrines have been constructed.
PM: Chiang Khan District in Loei , explore the town on foot or by bicycle, enjoy shopping and/ or a boat cruise along Mekong River as it is a small town with relaxing atmosphere.

TUESDAY 21 AUGUST
Loei – Bangkok
AM: Give alms to a Buddhist monks in Chiang Khan town
Phi Ta Khon Museum (2hr drive from Chiang Khan): experience local activity by painting your own ‘Phi Ta Khon Mask’as Phi Ta Khon or the Ghost Star Dance Festival Parade is a local tradition that showcases the rich culture of the people of Dansai district in Loei Province, which has been passed down from their ancestors. The Festival is part of the Boonluang Ceremony, which is considered the largest merit-making ceremony in the locality.)
