The Mary Valley is an adventure and food lover’s dream-destination, and during this famil you will discover exactly why there’s something very special about Mary (Valley).
The Mary Valley is just a hill or three north of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and just 30 minutes west of Noosa, but despite being so close it is still relatively undiscovered. The Valley is home to a handful of tiny places with fancy names like Imbil and Amamoor, a towering Hoop Pine state forest with trees that cast a fairy tale quality over bush walkers below, a river made for platypus spotting, a sprinkling of quaint country B&Bs and farms that produce outstanding produce.
Previously best known for the Mary Valley ‘Rattler’ steam train – which will recommence journeys (hopefully) in a year’s time – today the Mary Valley is better known as a haven for horse riding and cycling in the forests and kayaking in the streams. You will be experiencing all of that, along with tastings of local foods, visits to towns and teashops, and an overnight stay in historic Amamoor Lodge, where a campfire dinner will reveal stories and legends of this historic valley.
