The Great Beach Drive is without doubt the greatest and most spectacular ‘beach highway’ in Australia, connecting the Sunshine Coast with the World Heritage listed Fraser Island (K’Gari) – forming a large part of the Australia’s Nature Coast.
Great Beach Drive 4WD Tours offers fully guided tours driving the 70km section from Noosa to the beautiful beachside village of Rainbow Beach. Conducted by Advanced Eco Certified guides, the Great Beach Drive tour will unlock the secrets of this remarkable coastal strip. The tour will take in the famed coloured sands, serene Honeymoon Bay, pristine rainforest at Freshwater, and provide exclusive access to Double Island Point Lighthouse – a photographer’s dream offering breathtaking 360-degree views across the Pacific Ocean and the scenic surrounds of the Great Sandy National Park. Here you may spot pods of dolphins and majestic humpback whales.
You will experience sunset at the remarkable Carlo Sandblow, a full taste of the Gympie region’s outstanding natural produce for dinner at Rainbow Beach, and overnight accommodation in one of the village’s best establishments. In the morning you will have the opportunity to experience one of the most picturesque horse riding experiences in Australia, with Rainbow Beach Horse Rides (optional – alternatively explore Rainbow Beach village).
Kingfisher Bay Resort will then transfer you to Fraser Island, a living, breathing natural treasure. The traditional owners call Fraser Island ‘K’Gari’, which means paradise. You’ll experience Fraser’s natural diversity, beach lifestyle, lush sub-tropical rainforests and relaxed resort vibe. Kingfisher Bay Resort complements the natural environment, with resort buildings designed to mirror the island’s dunes while providing beautiful water views.
You will be transferred to Hervey Bay in time to catch departing planes to Sydney and Melbourne after midday on Tuesday, or road transfers back to Sunshine Coast. Please indicate your preference.
