Stomp grapes, learn to peel from award-winning apple peeler + pick a giant strawberry!
You’re invited to graze Queensland’s Granite Belt in February 2020!
You can join us for a self-drive day trip, a two day experience with return coach from Brisbane or three day self-drive long weekend experience. It’s also a special preview of the Apple and Grape Harvest Festival being held from 28 February to 8 March.
LUNCH DAY TRIP. (Friday 7 February, 2020)
- ASTW Lunch at the award-winning Varias Restaurant in Stanthorpe
- Follow the itinerary for Friday 7th February and meet you at Varias
TWO DAY EXPERIENCE. (Friday 7 + Saturday 8 February)
- See the two day experience itinerary, includes accommodation Friday night for two people per room.
COACH OPTION – return coach provided for pick-up Friday 7 Feb 8.30am from Brisbane Transit Centre. Return Sat 8 Feb at 6pm. (Total 39 seats available. First in basis. Guests $99 p/p return for coach). First in basis. The coach will deliver you to your accommodation and all activities.
LONG-WEEKEND EXPERIENCE (Friday 7, Saturday 8 + Sunday 9 February)
- Extend your stay with another night
- We’ll tailor a self-drive itinerary for you with options to suit, which can include cycling tour, meeting the makers and winery luncheon or picnic
- Accommodation for Saturday night provided at special industry rates

FRIDAY 7 FEBRUARY
8.30am Coach Depart Brisbane or self-drive.
11.00am Morning tea Jamworks. Go behind the scenes to see how the girls turn local berries and produce into award winning jams and conserves – you’ll love this saucy adventure.
12.30pm Lunch at Varias
Signature Dish is the Medley of Mains (with matching wines). The medley of mains menu changes every season.
At the College one of the most interesting stories is that they have planted 70 varieties of grapes in a “Vineyard of the Future” to test which varieties will thrive in the future Queensland climate, particularly with climate change.
Experience first-hand a “stomping of the Grapes” and hear more of the 2020 Apple & Grape Festival (hint – don’t wear white and bring along a change of clothes)
Meet the winner of the 2017 apple peeling competition – will she win again? Learn the tips with an Apple peeling lesson over lunch.

4pm Sunset winetasting on the deck at Ridgemill Estate (Silver Medal in Deluxe Accommodation Category of Queensland Tourism Awards)

SATURDAY 8 FEBRUARY
Early risers Explore the boulders and sunrise at Girraween National Park.
Discover the mysterious Ballandean Pyramid.
Lunch Granite Belt’s newest Cellar Door: Sirromet Cellar Door within St Jude’s Cafe & Cellar Door in Ballandean.
– Sirromet’s first cellar door on the Granite Belt. Sirromet produces about 40 per cent of Queensland wine and 98% of the wine sold under their label was grown in their Ballandean vineyards.
Afternoon Strawberry picking for take-home strawberries (with prize for the largest strawberry picked!) followed by a mystery last stop.
3pm – 6pm Head to Brisbane to arrive early evening around 6pm.
